£65,000 + Benefits + Hybrid (2 days required onsite a week)

Certain Advantage is hiring for a Lead Systems Engineer to join a major defence engineering programme developing next-generation Electronic Warfare and Radar systems.

This is a permanent opportunity offering hybrid working, long-term project stability, and the chance to work on innovative systems at the forefront of defence technology.

The Company:We’re working with a global engineering and technology leader delivering advanced solutions to the defence sector. You’ll join a highly skilled Integrated Project Team, collaborating with specialists across multiple disciplines to deliver complex systems that make a real impact.

The Role: As Lead Systems Engineer, you’ll take ownership of requirements management, systems definition, and verification across the full engineering lifecycle. You’ll ensure technical integrity, compliance, and traceability throughout development.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Developing and managing project requirements using DOORs
  • Defining and implementing the project’s Requirements Management and DOORS Implementation Plans
  • Supporting requirements definition, apportionment, and traceability from system to sub-system level
  • Producing verification and compliance documentation
  • Managing verification evidence and supporting data for compliance demonstration
  • Liaising with multidisciplinary engineering teams
The Individual: This role will suit someone with a strong background in systems engineering within the defence, aerospace, or radar sectors. You’ll bring excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively across engineering functions.

We’re looking for:
  • Experience in Requirements Management and Systems Engineering processes
  • Specialist-level knowledge of DOORS
  • Familiarity with tools such as Atlassian, Cameo Systems Modeller, or MATLAB
  • Understanding of Electronic Warfare, RF systems, Radar, or electro-optic systems
  • Strong documentation and verification experience
  • Eligibility for full UK Security Clearance
