Certain Advantage is working in partnership with a public sector client to recruit a Site Engineer to support the delivery of a high-profile construction project. This role is crucial in ensuring engineering works are delivered to specification, on time, and with a strong focus on safety and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver precise site engineering control and implementation of works, ensuring quality from the outset.
- Produce and brief Task Briefing Sheets and Method Statements for site activities.
- Undertake setting out from primary control data provided.
- Support the Permit to Dig process and brief workforce accordingly.
- Conduct on-site safety inspections and hazard identification, contributing to safe systems of work.
- Provide detailed sketches and as-built records for all completed works.
- Manage subcontractors—monitor attendance, track progress, and give instructions to ensure contractual deliverables.
- Maintain quality control on-site, resolving or escalating issues as needed.
- Produce accurate daily diaries covering labour, plant, materials, subcontractors, and work outputs.
Your Background:
- Relevant qualification in civil engineering, construction, or a related technical field.
- Proven experience in site engineering, ideally on publicly funded infrastructure or construction projects.
- Knowledge of construction safety protocols, method statements, and Permit to Dig
- Strong communication and technical documentation
- Proficiency in interpreting drawings, setting out, and maintaining accurate records.
- Capable of working independently and collaboratively in a high-stakes environment.
