Senior C++ Engineer – Trading
Certain Advantage is hiring for a Senior C++ Software Engineer based in London.
This role is on an initial 6-month contract basis and is required to be onsite 3 days a week.

You’ll be responsible for:
- Developing low-latency exchange connectivity using native exchange APIs and protocols including FIX, WebSockets and HTTP.
- Building and enhancing high-performance trading algorithms alongside traders and quantitative analysts.
- Optimising application performance through techniques such as kernel bypass, TLS optimisation and connection tuning.
- Investigating production issues, improving system reliability and resolving performance bottlenecks.
- Maintaining and extending automated testing frameworks to ensure software quality.
- Supporting releases, deployments and continuous improvements across the global trading platform.
- C++ software development experience within financial services.
- Experience working in Trading & Capital Markets or Investment Banking
- Strong understanding of exchange-traded derivatives and the full trading lifecycle.
- Knowledge of major global futures exchanges and their native protocols.
- Excellent understanding of multithreaded, asynchronous and distributed software development.
- Strong knowledge of algorithms, data structures and performance optimisation.
- Experience with Python, C#, SQL or other scripting/programming languages.
- A track record of delivering reliable, production-grade applications and deployment best practices.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
- The ability to thrive in a fast-paced trading environment with changing priorities.
