Certain Advantage is recruiting for multiple Mechanical Engineers on a permanent basis for an established engineering client. You will lead critical work packages supporting major UK and international nuclear projects.
The RoleYou will take technical ownership of DR5 Design phases for high-integrity nuclear assets, including Personnel Airlocks, Equipment Access Hatches, Fuel Transfer Channels, and Specialist Nuclear Doors.
Key Responsibilities

• Design Leadership: Lead/support DR5 designs and the applied governance process.
• Review Coordination: Run DR5 reviews and manage all technical deliverables (DFMEA, HAZID, Human Factors, and Design Calculations).
• Technical Documentation: Produce Method of Manufacture reports, material selection records, and cost models.
• Systems Management: Maintain DOORS modules for requirements and safety classifications.
• Collaboration: Work within an expanding team of FTEs and specialist secondees.

Experience Required

• Regulated Background: Experience in Nuclear, Thermal Power, Oil & Gas, or Process sectors.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong track record in cooling water systems and integrated design principles.
• Project Oversight: Experience managing subcontractors and full design lifecycles.
• Standards: Knowledge of ONR, Environment Agency, and HSE regulations.
• Credentials: Chartered Engineer (CEng) and eligible for UK Security Clearance (SC).
