Job Title:   Employee Relations Advisor
Location:  Ideally Glasgow (Hybrid) or Remote with occasional travel to Glasgow
Salary: Up to £34,000 + benefits

The Opportunity

We’re seeking an experienced and proactive Employee Relations Advisor to join a leading organisation’s UK HR team. This permanent role offers flexibility with home-based working, alongside occasional travel to the Glasgow office.
This is a key position for someone with solid employment law experience who thrives on complex employee relations casework. You’ll be the go-to expert for managers and stakeholders, advising on sensitive matters, attending pre-hearings and tribunals, and supporting HR processes that safeguard both the employee experience and the business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the main point of contact for managers on complex ER matters, including disciplinary, grievance, wellbeing, TUPE, restructures, and redundancies.
  • Manage employment tribunal claims: handle early conciliation with ACAS, draft responses, collate evidence, and prepare witness statements.
  • Provide guidance on settlement agreements, contractual changes, and employment law updates.
  • Maintain and update HR policies and the Employee Handbook to ensure compliance with current legislation.
  • Support HR Business Partners and stakeholders on people projects, change programmes, and ER initiatives.
  • Analyse and report on ER trends and casework to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Champion best practice, compliance, and continuous improvement across all HR processes.
Essential Experience & Skills
  • Proven track record in HR, Employee Relations, or Employment Law, including hands-on tribunal experience.
  • CIPD-qualified (or working towards) OR equivalent practical ER experience.
  • Strong influencing, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication.
  • Analytical, organised, and highly attentive to detail.
  • Resilient, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
  • Credible, compassionate, and confident advisor, able to challenge when required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
