Join A Dedicated Electrical Engineering Team
Our client is a growing and dedicated Electronics Engineering department committed to delivering critical projects. They are actively seeking a proactive and highly skilled Electrical Engineer to join their team on a full Time Basis, focusing on the infrastructure and asset development at a major, highly regulated dockyard facility.

This is a unique opportunity to act as the primary technical interface with our key customer, leading the full engineering lifecycle of vital electrical systems—from concept and design through to installation and compliance. If you thrive on technical complexity, stringent safety standards, and collaborative problem-solving, we want to hear from you.

The Role: Technical Lead, Safety and Compliance
As an Electrical Engineer, you will be instrumental in the modification, redesign, and development of mission-critical electrical infrastructure. You will ensure all projects meet exacting operational requirements, rigorous safety standards, and essential compliance obligations while working seamlessly within a supportive, multi-disciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Customer Interface: Engage directly with the customer to interpret operational needs and provide expert electrical engineering support and solutions.
  • Full Lifecycle Development: Scope, design, and propose modifications to existing assets or new facilities, managing projects from conceptual design through implementation and maintenance.
  • Technical Approval: Assess and approve complex technical documentation before submission, guaranteeing all regulatory and safety considerations are comprehensively addressed.
  • Cross-Functional Alignment: Liaise with multi-disciplinary engineering teams and stakeholders to ensure electrical designs align perfectly with broader infrastructure objectives.
  • Execution Support: Support the hands-on planning and execution of installation, commissioning, and final testing phases.
  • Documentation & Risk: Provide essential technical input for project documentation, risk assessments, and progress reporting.

Qualifications & Experience (Essential)
We are seeking a highly disciplined engineer with a proven track record in a regulated environment.
Education
Bachelor’s degree (minimum) in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
5+ years of relevant electrical engineering experience in a highly regulated industry (e.g., nuclear, maritime, infrastructure, oil and gas).
Proven track record in scoping, designing, and modifying critical electrical systems, including LV/HV power distribution, lighting, and general power systems.
Strong knowledge of relevant electrical standards and safety regulations (e.g., IEEE, IEC).

Highly Desirable Attributes
  • Master’s degree or Chartered Engineer (CEng) status.
  • Experience working specifically in a dockyard, marine, Defence, or MoD environment, particularly with asset lifecycle support.
  • Proficiency with electrical CAD software such as ETAP, AutoCAD Electrical, or similar simulation/design tools.
  • Knowledge of High Voltage (HV) Systems used in large-scale industrial facilities.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present and clarify technical information effectively.
