Cyber Security Engineer (DV Cleared)
Certain Advantage are recruiting on behalf of our prestigious client for a Cyber Security Engineer for initially 6 months. Due to the highly sensitive nature of the work you will be required to hold DV clearance and work the 37 hours per week fully onsite in Newport, South Wales. The hourly rate on offer is up to £90/hr (Umbrella, depending on experience)
This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established leading services provider who serve a range of high-profile clients including prominent names within aerospace, government and high-tech manufacturing.
As a Cyber Security Engineer you’ll stand as an escalation point for all SOC operational engineering activity.
You will be responsible for the transition of projects from the System Design team into the SOC operations ensuring impact analysis, capacity and availability management are considered prior to accepting new projects.
You’ll also mentor/oversee members of the SOC Engineering team, ensuring all operational tasks are completed and work tickets updated/closed on time.

Responsibilities
- Support SOC Engineers & Analyst activity
- Supports change & release management activity
- Toolset availability and capacity management review and escalation
- Maintain currency in security concepts, tools and best practices
- Engagement with R&D for Cyber Solutions/Products
- Good knowledge of multiple SOC tooling including IDPS/Firewalls/SIEM/Splunk/Email & Web Protection etc.
- Experience of implementing and fault finding Firewall technologies including Cisco ASR/Palo Alto/Fortinet
- Excellent understanding of network technologies
- Experience of Scripting and programming
- Experience of Windows and RedHat server systems and implementation of CIS hardening
