Description of role:
Certain Advantage are recruiting on behalf of a local government client for a Commercial Analyst to support a commercial team in delivering important strategic projects.
This is a 12 month temporary contract offering hybrid working and visits to the office in Hemel Hempstead as required. The hourly pay rate is equivalent to £40k per year, possibly higher for exceptional candidates.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The role will focus on these key areas
Extracting, analysing, and presenting data and service information, and conducting benchmarking/ market research/external reviews on a number of commercial opportunities.
Review as required to inform Commercial decisions (both strategic and operational), that will support the organisation to:
- Optimise income and identify new revenue opportunities.
- Research new and innovative trends and activities that lead to income generation that are cost effective as part of an ongoing Review.
Other responsibilities include;
- Undertaking ad-hoc project-based work as required, across the Commercial Programme, that supports the delivery of the Commercial Strategy
- Working within statutory guidelines, maintaining and updating the knowledge of the commercial delivery throughout the organisation
- Research how other organisations use innovation to support and contribute to the development of the organisations corporate policy, strategy and plans including responding to legislative and guidance changes.
- Providing excellent customer service working with customer facing staff and staff with other specialist areas to provide seamless services to customers both internally and externally.
- Working with the wider Commercial Development team to provide greater understanding and support to the commissioning cycle and contract management, where appropriate.
- Working with Commercial and Procurement colleagues on commercial issues and queries effectively, supporting the delivery of improved outcomes for customers, communities, and clients.
Your skills and experience
- Data Analysis – Ability to analyse and report data from a variety of systems, including financial reports (experience of Unit4 Agresso/Similar financial reporting is advantageous)
- Ability to identify and extract key data for specific commercial analysis
- Ability to analyse and present data that can be used to shape key commercial decisions
- Advanced MS Excel skills and confident user of other Microsoft products including Word and PowerPoint
- Confident in challenging performance across the organisation including with senior managers
- Ability to develop innovative new performance ideas
General Skills
- Self motivated and able to work independently
- Ability to present complex messages in an understandable way
- Ability to analyse and think through complex problems
- Effective communication – written, verbal and presentations
