Description of role:

Role: Audit Senior
Salary: Competitive
Location: Glasgow City Centre (hybrid)

This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified or part-qualified audit professional to step into a broad, client-facing role within one of Scotland’s most respected accountancy firms. With a well-established presence, this Glasgow-based firm brings together a rich heritage and a modern, progressive approach. Their client portfolio is both varied and dynamic, ranging from ambitious SMEs to long-standing corporate entities across multiple sectors. Despite their long-standing reputation, the firm maintains a forward-looking, people-first culture with a strong emphasis on professional development, collaboration, and building lasting client partnerships.

You’ll take the lead on a wide range of audit assignments, from planning through to final reporting, while also coaching junior team members and working closely with other departments such as tax and accounts. This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys autonomy, values quality over volume, and wants to make a visible impact within a tight-knit and supportive team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead audits from planning to completion, including fieldwork, reporting, and final review
  • Manage day-to-day client communication and maintain strong working relationships
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff during audit assignments and in the office
  • Review working papers for accuracy, technical compliance, and audit quality
  • Identify potential risks, issues, or areas for improvement and provide recommendations
  • Collaborate with tax and accounts teams to deliver a fully integrated client service
  • Stay current with changes in audit regulations, standards, and financial reporting

Experience:
  • Previous UK practice experience in an audit role
  • Strong technical understanding of UK auditing and reporting standards (including FRS 102)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a proactive, client-focused approach
  • Confident in managing workloads and mentoring junior colleagues
  • Organised, professional, and eager to contribute to a positive team culture

If you’re an experienced audit professional looking for a rewarding new role in a supportive environment, I’d love to hear from you!
