Certain Advantage are working with a strong manufacturing company in the Manchester area. Duer to increase of work. They have two permanent opportunities for experienced Quality Engineers to work in a clean, modern manufacturing plant with strong 5S standards
 
Option 1: Quality Engineer – Projects & Audits
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead internal compliance audits and support external surveillance audits (QMS / IMS).
  • Manage Non-Conformance, Material Review Board (MRB) activities, and Concession raising.
  • Ensure robust root-cause analysis (8D, 5Y) and drive continuous improvement / waste elimination.
  • Review manufacturing routing, engineering drawings, and specifications for project conformity.
  • Champion shop-floor 5S and health & safety standards.
 
Option 2: Quality Engineer – Product & NPI
Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct product inspection and verification across raw materials to finished turned/machined and sheet metal components.
  • Lead First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs / AS9102) and initial batch sign-offs.
  • Utilize advanced and traditional inspection techniques (hand tools, Keyence, CMM).
  • Raise and resolve Non-Conformance reports, concessions, and corrective actions on the shop floor.
  • Work directly with production teams to optimize First Time Through (RTT) rates and enforce 5S standards.
 
What We Are Looking For (Both Roles)
Experience:
  • Minimum 3 years’ Quality Engineering experience within a metallic manufacturing environment (Sheet Metal, Precision Machining, or Turned Components).
  • Direct exposure to Aerospace or Defense high-standard production environments (AS9100 / ISO 9001).
  • Drawing Literacy: Time-served inspection capability—expert in reading engineering drawings, GD&T, and material specifications.
  • Solid working understanding of Integrated Management Systems (IMS) and Quality Management Systems (QMS).
  • Pragmatic problem-solver, decisive, strong communicator, and a champion for continuous improvement.
