Project Manager IT
6 months FTC – Maternity Cover

We are looking for a visionary Digital Lead to join our team on a 6-month contract to cover maternity leave. This role is pivotal in ensuring the scheme remains Digital by Default, leveraging real-time data to drive productive and predictable delivery.

The Role
As the Digital Lead, you will own the project’s digital roadmap. You will be responsible for the identification, configuration, and embedment of digital systems across the project lifecycle. Your mission is to foster a data-led culture where every decision—from daily site tasks to monthly cost reporting—is underpinned by accurate, accessible information.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead all aspects of digitisation, including tool selection, deployment, and user adoption.
  • Embed a data-led approach to ensure real-time data availability for daily, weekly, and monthly reporting.
  • Analyze and lean existing processes to ensure they are optimized for digital transformation.
  • Systems Integration: Capture customer requirements for data and systems integration, acting as the primary interface between the project and Corporate IT.
  • Enable a data-driven approach to monthly cost and Earned Value Management (EVM) processes.
  • Lead training initiatives to ensure the project team and supply chain are proficient in the selected digital toolsets.
  •  Ensure all digital initiatives adhere to corporate IT standards, Information Security, and a relentless focus on Zero Harm.
Candidate Requirements
Essential:
  • Proven experience within the construction or heavy engineering sector (e.g., Nuclear, Infrastructure, or Utilities).
  • Expert-level experience in deploying and managing digital software applications on large, complex schemes.
  • A track record of establishing effective relationships at all levels, from site teams to executive stakeholders.
  • Ability to perform and deliver under time pressure within a consultant or contractor environment.
  • Experience in drafting and owning Project Digital Plans and roll-out schedules.

Preferred:
  • Degree-qualified (BSc, MSc, BEng) or equivalent experience in a technical/engineering field.
  • Certified in PRINCE2, APMP, or similar methodologies.
  • Deep understanding of the Digital Lifecycle across Design, Construction, and Asset Management stages.
  • A passion for sharing technical expertise and developing the digital maturity of others.
