The Opportunity
We are partnered with a globally renowned manufacturing giant to find a Senior Buyer to join their Indirect Procurement team.

This is a high-impact role supporting the UK Construction procurement strategy. You will be responsible for managing the end-to-end tender lifecycle, ensuring functional excellence, and building robust relationships with key stakeholders across FM, Security, and SHE (Safety, Health & Environment) teams.

The Role
As a Senior Buyer, you will drive value across a diverse portfolio of construction and infrastructure projects. Your core responsibilities will include:

  • Lead competitive tender events via e-procurement tools, from supplier sourcing to final award.
  • Negotiate critical contract clauses (pricing, liquidated damages, termination, insurance) using industry-standard templates (JCT/NEC).
  • Identify and record savings opportunities while ensuring project quality and delivery timelines are met.
  • Act as a key partner for internal customers and the wider Indirect Procurement team, preparing for Procurement Gate Reviews and resolving complex invoice queries.
  • Support functional excellence programmes to refine processes and drive departmental efficiency.

Your Profile
We are looking for a commercially astute individual who remains calm under pressure and can juggle multiple projects simultaneously. To be successful, you will need:
  • Significant experience in Construction procurement, including familiarity with small works frameworks.
  • Practical knowledge of industry-standard forms of contract, specifically JCT or NEC.
  • A proven track record of running RFPs, assessing supplier submissions, and leading negotiations to optimize cost and quality.
  • Experience working for a Client, Prime Contractor, or Sub-contractor is highly valued.

Professional Qualifications:
You should hold (or be working towards) CIPS or RICS qualifications or have equivalent significant vocational experience.
