Description of role:
World Class Defence Organisation is currently looking to recruit an RF Systems Engineer subcontractor on an initial 12 month contract.
Job Title: RF Systems Engineer
Rate: £80.00 per hour
Overtime Rate: Hours worked over 37 hours per week will be calculated at ‘time and a quarter’
Location: Stevenage or Bristol
Hybrid / Remote working: The role will be a hybrid role of 3 or 4 days per week onsite. A 4 day week is also possible (Monday to Thursday)
Contract: 37 Hours per week
Duration: 12 Months (initially and then ongoing and long-term thereafter)
IR35 status: Inside IR35 (Umbrella)
RF Systems Engineer Job Description:
The Data Link Systems department is responsible for the systems design of the Data Link that maintains communication with a missile product as it completes its mission. The Data Link systems team require an RF systems engineer to support work on the Sea Venom program.
Sea Venom is a helicopter launched anti Corvette/FIAC weapon system consisting of platform equipment and missile effector. The weapon system is a joint UK/French development, which is installed on the Wildcat Helicopter for the UK.
The Sea Venom data link provides a secure two way RF link to up to four missiles in-flight enabling image downlinks, aim point refinement, abort commands as well as target location updates. The data link comprises of:

Lead Sea Venom Activities for Data Links:
Support wider CAMM Family Data Link Systems Team, depending on Sea Venom workload.

- Missile Terminal and antenna
- Platform (Helicopter) Terminal with an active antenna enabling 360deg (in azimuth) beam pointing capability.
Responsibilities:
Lead Sea Venom Activities for Data Links:
- Focal Point for all data links work on Sea Venom.
- Resolution of manufacturing data link issues.
- Support Integration Teams with data link queries.
- Support New Business Activities: Studies, Modelling, Bids.
- Manage design configuration for data link i.e. Problem Reports, Change Notes.
- Ensure coherence with obsolescence redesigns for Transverse Products.
- Work package management of data links workpackages on Sea Venom (limited scope).
Support wider CAMM Family Data Link Systems Team, depending on Sea Venom workload.

- RF Systems Engineering
- Stakeholder Management
- Weapon System Integration and Certification
- Appreciation of Manufacturing processes.
