We are seeking a skilled CNC Programmer to join a leading aerospace precision engineering team in Manchester. This role is ideal for an experienced professional who thrives in a fast-paced, low-volume/high-mix production environment.

The Role
As a CNC Programmer, you will be responsible for developing and optimising CNC programs based on engineering drawings and 3D models. You’ll play a key role in enhancing machining efficiency and ensuring the production of high-quality parts.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Create and refine CNC programs using Autodesk Powermill.
  • Interpret technical drawings and CAD models to generate accurate toolpaths.
  • Select suitable cutting tools, feeds, and speeds for various materials.
  • Produce detailed setup sheets for operators.
  • Conduct test runs and fine-tune programs for accuracy and cycle-time optimisation.
  • Use Powershape to design jigs, fixtures, and bespoke holding solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with machinists to improve programming and machining outcomes.
  • Apply revision control to all programming and setup data.
 
The Individual
 We are looking for candidates who demonstrate:
  • Experience in CNC programming for 3-axis & 5-axis machining centres.
  • High-level proficiency in Autodesk Powermill and Powershape (Fusion 360 a bonus).
  • Strong knowledge of multi-axis machining strategies and tooling techniques.
  • Solid understanding of engineering drawings and GD&T.
  • Practical knowledge of material properties and best practices for collision avoidance.
