Warwickshire
£27 per hour
Initially 10-month contract
40 hours per week
 
Certain Advantage is partnering with a leading automotive company to recruit an experienced Vehicle Safety Test Technician. This role is based in the Vehicle Safety Test Laboratory (VSTL), where you’ll play a key role in supporting and delivering physical testing in a highly technical lab environment.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assemble test rigs and test properties according to engineering specifications.
  • Operate rig control and data acquisition systems to ensure accurate and representative test conditions.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and fault diagnosis on test rigs.
  • Coordinate fixture design and fabrication in collaboration with the design team.
  • Complete detailed and timely documentation, including DART records, test logs, and issue reports.
  • Support root cause investigations through rig/property inspections and issue identification.
  • Drive continual improvement of laboratory test methods and technologies.
  • Maintain compliance with health, safety, quality, and environmental standards (ISO 17025, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, IATF 16949).
 
Your Background:
  • Proven experience operating test facilities and preparing test samples.
  • Strong understanding of data acquisition systems and closed-loop control principles.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to process data and report on findings.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a structured technical approach.
  • Knowledge of instrumentation calibration and Health & Safety practices (Risk Assessments, COSHH).
  • Strong communication skills and team collaboration experience.
  • Proficient in using computers and understanding technical documentation.
