Salary: Negotiable 

– 4 day working week (3 days in the office, 1 remote)

The Role:

As Lead Software Engineer, you’ll manage embedded software projects across the full lifecycle—from requirements to delivery. You’ll drive technical development, support junior engineers, and contribute to continuous process improvement in a safety-critical environment.

Requirements:
  • Degree in Software Engineering or related subject
  • Proven experience in full lifecycle software development in aerospace, military, or automotive
  • Proficient in Embedded C and MISRA C
  • Experience with 8/16-bit microcontrollers (e.g., PIC18, dsPIC)
  • Knowledge of digital hardware and system integration
  • Strong debugging, verification, and testing (unit, integration) skills
  • Familiar with DO-178C and formal documentation standards
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
Responsibilities:
  • Lead embedded software development from design through validation
  • Deliver high-quality, compliant solutions on time and to spec
  • Produce technical documentation in line with industry standards
  • Mentor junior staff and collaborate across functions
  • Identify and implement improvements to development processes
  • Stay up to date with best practices and emerging technologies
