Certain Advantage is collaborating with a leading automotive company to recruit an experienced Component Design Engineer. You will be responsible for Component design and release role for suspension mechanical and hydraulic components, as well as working with multiple potential suppliers to develop components from concept selection through to launch.
Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to collect and validate design requirements.
• Negotiate and finalise design specifications with potential suppliers.
• Coordinate development activities between internal teams and suppliers to ensure product specifications are met.
• Partner with Procurement to oversee supplier selection and onboarding processes.
• Manage supplier relationships, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality products that meet cost and attribute targets.
• Ensure compliance with established product delivery processes and fulfill all Gateway requirements for assigned components.

 
Your Background:

• Proven experience working with suppliers of mechanical and/or hydraulic components in the automotive industry.
• Demonstrated expertise in component development, design verification planning, and management.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

 
During the Interview, We May Ask You About:

• Hydraulic principles and their underlying physics.
• MATLAB and data analysis.

• Quality management tools (e.g., DFMEA).
